Our clinic in Keswick treats with Traditional Chinese Medicine. This includes acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, cupping and gua sha.

Treatment is based on a Chinese medicine assessment of your specific health concern.

TCM Practitioners

In Ontario, acupuncture in the Chinese medicine tradition is practised by Registered Acupuncturists (R.Ac) and Registered Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners (R.TCMP), regulated by the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of Ontario (CTCMPAO). Other regulated professionals may also use acupuncture within their own scope of practice. You can check any practitioner’s registration on their college’s public register.

Chinese Herbal Medicine

Chinese herbal medicine is based on TCM theory. There are hundreds of herbs in common use, and they are usually given as a formula of several herbs chosen for your diagnosis. In Ontario, prescribing Chinese herbs is part of the R.TCMP scope of practice. Your formula is put together by your Chinese herbalist for your own pattern, and it may be adjusted at follow-up visits as things change.
