Jason Tarter, R.TCMP, R.Ac

Training

Jason trained at the Institute of Traditional Medicine and the Toronto School of Traditional Chinese Medicine. He earned a diploma in acupuncture in 2008, then a diploma in Chinese herbal medicine in 2010.

He has also trained in the Meizen facial protocol, which he uses forcosmetic acupuncture.

He is registered with the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of Ontario (CTCMPAO), which regulates the profession in Ontario. Many extended health plans recognize the R.TCMP and R.Ac designations; check what yours covers.

How Jason works

Every treatment starts from a diagnosis. Jason asks a lot of questions, looks at your tongue and takes your pulse, then works out why you are experiencing your symptoms, not just what they are. That diagnosis decides the treatment: which acupuncture points, whether cupping, moxibustion or tuina will help, and whether a herbal formula belongs in the plan.

He combines acupuncture with custom herbal formulas, written for the individual patient. He also runs the herbal dispensary that fills them.

The clinic

Traditional Healing Centre is a focused Chinese medicine practice in Keswick, Ontario.

We are on the second level of the building. The stairwell to the second floor is next to the restaurant Rice and Noodles.
